Duel sportsbook: what we measured, not what they promise
On 8 Jul 2026 we pulled four markets from Duel's board anonymously and de-vigged them. Football pre-match came out at 1.74% and 2.49% overround — the sharpest football prices in our first sampling round. Live esports ran 3.87% to 13.71%. Four rows is not a verdict; it is a first reading.

What we verified first-hand
The sportsbook runs on Betby: pre-match, live, esports, an Event Builder, a rail of roughly 30 sports, and 98 football competitions visible when we counted. The odds themselves are served by Betby's public brand API, which answered our anonymous client on 8 Jul 2026 — no account, no cookie dance. That matters for a measurement site: we can sample the same board a logged-out visitor sees.
The operator is Immortal Snail LLC, registered in Nevis (L22982). The Anjouan license ALSI-202411026-FI1 showed VALID in the official Anjouan Gaming Board validator when we checked it on 8 Jul 2026 — we looked it up ourselves rather than trusting the footer badge.
One thing Duel does not have: a published sportsbook-margin promise. The only official line on sports pricing is a plan, not a claim — "A 0% edge PvP sportsbook... something we're in the process of building" (duel.com/wtf-duel). Their zero-edge program that is live today covers the casino only; it is a separate product and says nothing about the sportsbook you bet into now. We treat unpromised margins the way we treat promised ones: we measure them.

KYC and access notes
KYC is discretionary: the current Terms of Service (27 Jan 2026) contain no numeric verification threshold. The official ANN puts it plainly — the sports team requires KYC for "suspected accounts", an anti-syndicate posture rather than a deposit trigger. That is a different shape of friction than Cloudbet's reported dollar threshold; how the two compare in practice is covered in crypto books vs regulated books.
What the data says — and doesn't, yet
The honest read: Duel posted the sharpest football prices of round 1 by a wide gap. A 1.74% 1X2 line undercuts everything else we sampled that day, and 2.49% on the second fixture keeps the pattern. The live esports rows tell the other half of the story — 3.87% on a balanced 2-way is respectable, while 13.71% on a lopsided live 3-way shows the usual live premium in full. What we cannot tell you yet: whether 1.74% is Duel's normal or Duel's best day. Four samples from one round is a snapshot, not a distribution. Medians arrive when the book crosses our n≥6 bar on the history log. Until then, treat the number as measured, dated, and provisional.
